LIVINGSTON, Ala.- Men's Basketball continued their hot streak tonight into the first game of GSC Play as the Tigers took down Montevallo 83-56 inside Pruitt Hall.
The Tiger's electric back court trio led the way tonight as all three starting guards came up big offensively. Thadd Williams led the way with 23 points and a career high seven threes along with 6 assists. Jaylen Lemons added 19 points along with five threes and five assists. Kuran Garner rounded out the night with 17 points and four more assists.
CJ Melton lit up the stat sheet tonight with an excellent overall performance, recording ten points, seven rebounds, five assists, a blocked shot, and two steals.
West Alabama converted a season high 17 three-pointers and shot 46% from beyond the arc tonight, and 52.5% from the field overall.
Montevallo, who is known for doing most of their damage behind the arc themselves, shot 10-24 tonight, along with being outscored in the paint 30-22 by West Alabama. Jaylen Curry led the way in scoring for the Falcons with 15 points on 50% shooting.
The Tigers move to 4-1 on the year and 1-0 in the GSC. West Alabama will take on top 20 ranked Auburn Montgomery inside Pruitt Hall on Thursday night as the Tigers look to continue their hot streak of shooting. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
