Men's Hoops is Set to Host Two GSC Teams this Week

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama men's basketball team is set to host two Gulf South Conference games this week. The Tigers open up the week against Mississippi College on Thursday at 7 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.

The Tigers are 17-4 overall and 13-4 in GSC play. The Choctaws are 12-10 overall and 8-10 in the conference. Tradavis Thompson leads MC with 18.2 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Shardarrion Allen leads the Tigers' offense with 13.9 points per game and six rebounds per game. Allen ranks 16th in the GSC in scoring and 11th in rebounds. Justin Allison averages 13.6 points per game, ranking him 19th in the GSC in scoring. He averages 3.9 rebounds per game and three assists per game. He ranks third in the GSC for free throw percentage, 10th in assists, and 17th in 3-point field goals per game.

Terry Durham averages 13.2 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game. Durham ranks fourth in the GSC in rebounds and 21st in scoring. Kuran Garner averages 11.9 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game. CJ Melton ranks 16th in the conference for rebounds and averages 5.7 per contest.

As a unit, UWA averages 74.1 points per game. The Tigers' defense leads the GSC in scoring defense, holding its opponent to 61.9 points per game. UWA's scoring margin is 12.2 points per game.

The Tigers close the week out with a GSC matchup against Delta State on Saturday at 7 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium. The Statesmen are 6-15 overall and 5-13 in GSC play. Maalik Cartwright leads DSU with 20.2 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.
