Errors Cost Tigers Win Against William Carey

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama baseball lost a close one against William Carey 3-2 Tuesday evening at Tartt Field. The Tigers suffered six errors, allowing William Carey to capitalize and leave with a win.
 
Blake Vineyard and Houston Kitterman scored the only two runs for the Tigers in the fifth inning to give UWA the lead 2-1.
 
Two unearned runs for the Crusaders in the sixth inning gave William Carey the 3-2 lead and UWA couldn't answer back.
 
The Tigers recorded seven hits with Michael Rich and Vineyard leading the way with two each. Kitterman and Colden Peeples added in one each as well as Josh Bower recording a pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth.
 
Five different Tigers made it to the mound with Graham Holland starting and pitching five innings and allowing only three hits and one walk with two strikeouts. Jace Dunsford (0-1) collected the pitching loss for the Tigers, giving up two runs and three walks.
 
Dario Herrera (1-0) picked up the win for William Carey forcing three strikeouts against the Tigers in five innings pitched.
 
West Alabama will travel to Carrollton, Georgia, to take on West Georgia in the Tigers first GSC series. The first pitch is set for 2 p.m. CT on Friday.
