Tigers Fall to Union on the Road

JACKSON, Tenn. - West Alabama men's basketball team struggled to score in the 73-56 loss to Union Saturday evening inside Fred DeLay Gymnasium, wrapping up regular season road trips.
 
The Tigers dropped to 21-5 overall and are now 17-5 in GSC play. The Bulldogs improved to 14-12 overall and 13-9 in the conference.
 
Thaddeus Williams and Shardarrion Allen were the only two Tigers to score in double figures. Williams led the Tigers with 22 points. Allen added 14 points. 
 
Both teams went back and forth in the first 10 minutes of the first half. UWA's final lead of the game was at the 9:12 mark, 14-12. The Bulldogs took the lead at the 8:56 mark, and the Tigers could not make a comeback.
 
Union outscored UWA 34-21 in the first half and 39-35 in the second half, allowing the Bulldogs to claim the 73-56 win. 
 
Union shot 53.1 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 776.2 percent from the foul line. Tylandrius Parks led the Bulldogs with 22 points and seven rebounds. 
 
The Tigers return to Pruitt Hall Gymnasium on Thursday to face Valdosta State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
