UWA Turnovers Lead Union to 60-34 Win

JACKSON, Tenn. - West Alabama women's basketball team had 25 turnovers, allowing Union to take the 60-34 win Saturday afternoon inside Fred DeLay Gymnasium, wrapping up regular season road trips.
 
The Tigers dropped to 13-13 overall and are now 10-12 in GSC play. The Bulldogs improved to 21-3 overall and 19-3 in the conference.  
 
UWA's 25 turnovers allowed Union to keep the lead over the Tigers the whole game. It was a slow start for UWA, only scoring eight points in the first quarter compared to the Bulldogs 19. The Tigers out scored the Bulldogs 16-10 in the second quarter, going into the half trailing 29-24. 
 
Union outscored UWA, 31-10, in the second half, allowing the Bulldogs to claim the 60-34 win. 
 
Bria Dent and Maryanne Logsdon led the Tigers with nine points each. Dent grabbed 10 rebounds, while Logsdon had eight. 
 
Jala Williams added seven points, five rebounds, and three assists. Zoe Watts had five points and five rebounds. Kamille Clark and Kiona McCallister each had two points.
 
Shanique Lucas led the Bulldogs with 12 points. She was the only player to score double figures in the game. 
 
The Tigers return to Pruitt Hall Gymnasium on Thursday to take on Valdosta State in a GSC matchup. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
