Tigers Battle VSU and UWF at Home This Weekend

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama men's basketball team is set to host two home games inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium this weekend to wrap up the regular season.

The Tigers battle Valdosta State on Thursday at 7 p.m. Fans and students are encouraged to wear white to the game.

UWA is 21-5 overall and 17-5 in GSC play. VSU is 18-10 overall and 14-8 in the conference. Jacolbey Owens leads the Blazers with 15.8 points per game.

Shardarrion Allen leads the Tigers' offense. He averages 13.9 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. Allen ranks 16th in the GSC in scoring and 14th in rebounds.

Justin Allison averages 13.3 points per game, ranking him 19th in the GSC in scoring. He averages 3.8 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game. He ranks second in the GSC for free throw percentage, 10th in assists, and 18th in 3-point field goals per game.

Terry Durham averages 12.8 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game. Durham ranks third in the GSC in rebounds and 22nd in scoring.

Kuran Garner averages 11.2 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game. CJ Melton ranks 11th in the conference for rebounds, averaging 5.9 per contest.

As a unit, UWA averages 72.5 points per game. The Tigers' defense leads the GSC in scoring defense, holding its opponent to 61.1 points per game. UWA's scoring margin is 11.4 points per game.

Heading into weekend action, the Tigers face West Florida on Saturday at 4 p.m. Fans and students are encouraged to wear black to the game. Senior recognition will be held right after the women's game. The two seniors that will be honored are Shardarrion Allen and Justin Allison.

The Argos are 13-13 overall and 9-13 in the conference. LaTrell leads UWF's offense with 16.7 points per game.

Both live stream and live stats will be available for the game. The matchup will also be broadcast live on SLY104.9 with commentary from Will Atkinson on Thursday and Jason Gardner on Saturday.
