COLUMBUS, Ga. – Columbus State put up six runs in the first and second innings on the way to a 12-0 victory over West Alabama Sunday at Burger King Stadium.
Following a split in the first two games of the series, the win clinched the series for the Cougars, improving CSU to 2-1 overall. The Tigers fall to 1-2 overall after the first series of the season.
Colton Joyner picked up the pitching win for Columbus State, striking out four Tigers. Roe Ketchum was charged with the loss, working 1.2 innings and giving up six hits and six runs.
The Cougars jumped out to an 11-0 lead after the fourth inning. The Tigers' offense stalled, collecting only four total hits in the game.
The Tigers return to action with their first game of the season at Tartt Field, facing off against Delta State on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
