Baseball to Host Miles in First Series at Tartt Field

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama baseball will host Miles in its first home series at Tartt Field. The non-conference series begins with a double header on Friday starting at 2 p.m., followed by a single game on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Tigers enter the weekend series with a 1-3 overall record, while the Bears are 2-3.

Infielder Michael Rich leads the UWA hitters with a batting average of .333 with five hits, three RBIs, and a home run.

Senior Jake Nemith tallied five hits, three runs, and an RBI. Outfielder Nick Thibodeau has three hits, one run, one run batted in, and one home run in his six appearances at-bat.

The Tigers are led on the mound by freshman Laney Keeton who has seven strikeouts and has only allowed two hits in 5.1 innings pitched. Keeton has held batters to a .095 batting average against him.

Miles' bats are led by Brandon Leroy, who has a .308 batting average with four hits, two doubles, and three RBIs. Anthony Ramos adds in four hits, two runs, and one RBI.

Kaleb Allen (1-1) leads Miles on the mound with five strikeouts while allowing a .241 batting average.
