Baseball to Host Spring Hill on Wednesday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama baseball will host Spring Hill on Wednesday in non-conference midweek game at Tartt Field with the first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
West Alabama is 8-9 overall and 5-4 in Gulf South Conference matchups. Spring Hill enters the matchup 7-9 overall.
 
Michael Rich leads the Tigers bats with a .388 batting average, 26 hits, two home runs, and 14 runs batted in. Jake Nemith brings in a .324 batting average to go with 22 hits, 12 runs, and a GSC-leading nine doubles.
 
Outfielder Kyle Vogler leads UWA with three stolen bases on the season. Nick Thibodeau leads the Tigers alongside Rich with two home runs.
 
Jacob Smith (4-1) has continued his excellent play on the mound, boasting an ERA of 1.82 and an opposing batting average of .203, in which he ranks fourth and eighth in the GSC respectively. Smith sits at the top of the GSC in batters struck out, batters struck out looking, and wins with 49, 14 and four. Right-handed pitcher Brenton Thiels is fifth in the conference with two saves on the season.
 
Jackson Bell leads Spring Hill with a .293 batting average to go with 17 hits, 17 RBIs, and five home runs. Gage Ragona and Bryce Anderson lead the Badgers in stolen bases with 11 each.
