Tigers Fall to Spring Hill

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama baseball team was defeated by Spring Hill in a midweek non-conference game at Tartt Field Wednesday night by a final score of 15-3.
 
The Tigers fall to 8-10 overall and the Badgers improve to 8-9.
 
Jordan Felps (0-1) absorbed the loss for the Tigers while pitching one inning and giving up two runs on two hits and walked one batter. West Alabama saw 10 different pitchers take the mound, collectively giving up 15 runs on 11 hits and walked 10 batters.
 
Michael Racobaldo (1-1) earned the win for the Badgers, working 6.1 innings and giving up three runs on two hits and striking out nine batters. 
 
The Tiger bats were led by Michael Rich amd Colden Peeples, the duo collected two total hits in the game. Jake Nemith and Blake Vineyard were the only other Tigers to record a hit in the game. UWA collected four total hits, two runs batted in, and left seven runners on base.
 
West Alabama was down 3-2 at the end of the third inning before the Badgers plated seven runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead. Spring Hill added two runs in the eighth and three runs in the ninth to win the ball game.
 
Spring Hill's Norris McClure and Seth Williams scored three runs each on three hits and two hits respectively, while adding in one RBI each. Bryce Anderson had two runs on two hits with two RBIs. Spring Hill collected 11 total hits, 11 runs batted in, and 12 runners left on base.
 
West Alabama hits the road for a three-game Gulf South Conference series against Mississippi College on Friday and Saturday. A single game will take place Friday with the first pitch set for 5 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader is set to begin at 1 p.m.
