Baseball Starts Final Road Trip of the Season with Single Game Against Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala. – The West Alabama baseball team's regular season is winding down as they are set to play the final road games of the season, starting with Spring Hill in Mobile, Alabama. The non-conference game is set to begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
 
The Tigers enter the road trip with a 17-22 record overall, while Spring Hill heads into the game with a 24-16 record.
 
Blake Vineyard leads West Alabama's bats with a .351 batting average on the season, adding 17 runs scored, 40 hits, and two home runs. Michael Rich is the Tigers' leader in home runs, hits, and runs batted in with nine home runs, 49 hits, and 33 RBIs.
 
Colden Peeples has risen to a .304 batting average with 22 runs, 35 hits, and 17 runs batted in. Peeples remains as the team leader in stolen bases with 12. Jake Nemith leads the teams in at-bat appearances with 155 to go with his 43 hits, 24 runs, and team-leading 12 doubles. Nemith sits at tenth in the Gulf South Conference in doubles.
 
Kyle Vogler leads West Alabama in runs scored with 37 to go along with his 33 hits and three home runs on the season. Bryce Newman has 28 hits and 14 runs, while Josh Bower adds 15 runs scored and 25 hits.
 
Jacob Smith (6-3) heads the mound for UWA with an ERA of 3.56, 60.2 innings pitched, an opposing batting average of .227, and a GSC-leading 88 strikeouts. Smith remains in the top 10 of GSC rankings as he's ninth in ERA, seventh in opposing batting average, seventh in innings pitched, and seventh in wins. Relief pitcher Brenton Thiels sits at fifth in the GSC in saves with three on the season.
 
Norris McClure leads the Badgers' bats with a .389 batting average, 45 runs scored, 58 hits, 11 doubles, and 39 runs batted in. Jackson Bell adds 12 home runs, 54 hits, and a team-leading 47 runs scored.
