Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | Collin Hare, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Volleyball Closes out Tennessee Road Trip with Win

West Alabama began their road trip with a stop in Memphis, Tennessee to take on GSC rival Christian Brothers. CBU started off the game strong with a close first-set win that went over the 25 mark, winning 27-25.

The Tigers answered with a second-set blowout 25-14, sealed with a kill from Mya Carter, assisted by Desiree Blount. The Tiger's glory wouldn't last long, with Christian Brothers learning from their mistakes and closing out West Alabama in the contest, winning three sets to one.

Volleyball completed their weekend road trip with a victory against Union in Jackson in a five-set slugfest that went down to the wire.

The Tigers and the Bulldogs both came out no-holds-barred, as the Bulldogs won set one on a two-point advantage 26-24. The Tigers answered with a 25-22 victory in set 2. The blow-for-blow affair continued as Union took the third set. West Alabama once again answered, tying the match at Two Sets to Two.

Jaida Alvin finished off the Bulldogs in the 5th set on a service ace to give the Tigers their first GSC Victory of the season.

The ladies will travel back to Livingston on Tuesday, September 26th to take on Auburn Montgomery in Livingston. First Serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.
