MONTEVALLO, Ala.- The University of West Alabama Men's Soccer team defeated The University of Montevallo men's team in full time by a score of 3-0 in Montevallo. Â
West Alabama wasted no time getting on the board first, as Adrain Evrard scored off an assist by David Nunez in the 5th minute, setting the Tigers up with an early 1-0 lead over the Falcons on their home pitch. Â
Montevallo's Michael Milliron attempted to answer in the 24th minute with a bottom-right shot but was saved by Lasse Schwieren. Â
Evrard would take another crack at it in the 31st minute but was saved by the Falcon's Tomas Valles. Montevallo responded with a shot from Alvaro Martin Lopez in the 35th minute but missed left. Â
Montevallo couldn't seem to find the net thanks to the astounding defensive efforts of the Tigers. Â
Baronyi Kengeye ended the long scoring silence in the 82nd minute, scoring unassisted and putting West Alabama up by two scores with less than 9 minutes to go in regulation. Â
Kengeye poured on another one with less than a minute to go, assisted by Bailey Jeffries, putting the nail in the coffin for the Falcons. Â
West Alabama moves to 5-1-2 on the season, remaining unbeaten in the GSC with a conference record of 3-0-1, while Montevallo moves to 2-6-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the GSC. The Tigers finish their home stand on Sunday with a visit from Coach Matthew Thorne and Auburn Montgomery. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 1st in Tiger Stadium. Â
