LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's Soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Union on Friday night at the UWA Soccer Complex.
The Tigers improved to 4-3-3 overall and 2-2-2 in Gulf South Conference play with the win, while Union dropped to 5-4-1.
Joe Wright opened the scoring for UWA in the 19th minute, netting his third goal of the season with an assist from
Michael Bell. The Tigers maintained their lead through a solid second half, adding an insurance goal in the 83rd minute when
Aiden Riley scored off a header, assisted by
Ronny Wakelin.
Union managed 15 shots, but only three were on target, with UWA goalkeeper
Timon Dressel making three saves to secure the clean sheet. The Tigers outshot Union 20-15, with eight shots on goal compared to Union's three.
West Alabama will look to carry this momentum into their next home match on Sunday, October 13th, at 3:30 p.m. when they host Christian Brothers.
