LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's basketball team dropped a 57-43 decision to the University of West Georgia in Gulf South Conference action Wednesday evening from Pruitt Hall.
UWG improves to 13-10 and 9-10 in the league, while UWA drops to 5-19 and 4-16.
The Tigers slowly crawled back from a slow start to take a 7-6 lead on a

West Georgia swelled the lead to 12 at the start of the quarter and held the Tigers to without a bucket for nearly four minutes until
Augusta Arnold's jump shot.
That shot sparked a run, cutting the 12-point deficit down to four with a minute remaining in the half, but an Aliyah Washington shot gave UWG a 25-19 lead at the break.
Midway through the third quarter, following field goals by
Kiona McCallister and
Kendall Lacoste to trim West Georgia's lead back to four, 33-29, the visitors responded with a 10-0 run in the final four minutes to swell the lead back to double digits, 43-29.
UWG essentially put the contest away in the third period, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and outscoring UWA 18-10 in the period.
Kendall Lacoste led the Tigers with 10 points and added two dimes, while
Shayla Golden scored eight points and grabbed five boards.
Adrianna Djokovic set new UWA highs on Wednesday night. Playing a season-long 18 minutes off the bench, she scored nine points on two 3-pointers and added two dimes.
