CASPER, Wyo. – The University of West Alabama rodeo teams will see five student-athletes participate in the short go of the College National Finals Rodeo on Saturday evening.
The short go round on Saturday night will consist of the top 12 competitors of each event after three runs. The finals will take place at 8 p.m. CST from the Ford Wyoming Center.

UWA saw most of their runs earlier in the week, except for one on Friday. On the schedule was
Lauren Booty, as she ran in the breakaway roping for the third time of the championship. On the run, she posted a 3.6 and will advance to Saturday's short go round. Watch the video of her run below or by clicking

Ashley Henderson,
Jaylie Matthews,
Taycie Matthews and
Blayne Saine who will compete in the final performance of the championships.
After her run on Friday, Booty's average was good for third at the championship with a 7.8. Henderson had an 8.6 in her three runs in the breakaway roping for fourth.
The Matthews' sisters, Taycie and Jaylie, will participate in the finals of the barrel racing. Taycie led the entire field with a 41.66 average after winning the first two runs. Jaylie will participate in the finals after achieving seventh place (42.87).
On the men's side, Blayine Saine will compete in the tie down roping short go. Over his three runs, he posted a 28.4.
The women's team sits in third place overall at 395 points and are within striking distance of the teams ahead in the standings (Texas A&M, 397; Tarleton State, 440).
The men are 15th in the standings with 210 total points.
