NASHVILLE, Tenn. – West Alabama men's soccer fought to a 1-1 draw against Trevecca Nazarene on Sunday afternoon at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
The Tigers struck first, but the Trojans battled back in the second half to equalize.
West Alabama took the lead in the 36th minute when Michael Bell netted his first goal of the season, assisted by David Nunez. Bell converted Nunez's pass to give UWA the lead before halftime.
In the 59th minute, Trevecca Nazarene's Josh Farrell leveled the match, scoring off an assist from Tom Hooper. Despite both teams having opportunities to take the lead, the match ended in a stalemate.
West Alabama outshot Trevecca Nazarene 16-15, with both teams managing five shots on goal. The match was physical, with both sides committing a combined 25 fouls, and several yellow cards were issued throughout.
The Tigers (2-2-2, 0-1-1 GSC) will travel to Mobile, Alabama for their next match on Friday, September 27, at 3:30 p.m.
