MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of West Alabama volleyball team ended its nine-game losing streak and earned its first road win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Auburn University at Montgomery on Thursday night at the AUM Athletics Complex.
West Alabama opened strong, capitalizing on early AUM errors and key kills from Jazlyn Snow and Gracie Pierscinski to take the first set. After the Warhawks (3-17, 2-10 GSC) evened the match in the second, UWA responded with a balanced offensive attack led by KB Kinney, Cadence Goeden, and Klára Bobánová, pulling away late in the third set to regain control.
In the fourth, the Tigers dominated from start to finish, highlighted by kills from Snow and Goeden, a service ace from Bailey Keef, and steady setting from Kinney and Jana Petkovic. Bobánová sealed the match with the final kill to give UWA its first road win of the 2025 campaign.
Kinney turned in a standout performance, recording a career-high 13 kills while nearly posting a triple-double with 14 assists and seven digs.
The Tigers now return to Pruitt Hall on Friday Oct. 24 for their annual Dig Pink match against Mississippi College. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
