FAIRFIELD, Ala. — West Alabama (9-12, 4-9 GSC) put together a dominant performance on Tuesday night, defeating Miles College (15-13, 6-9 SIAC) in straight sets at Knox-Windham Gymnasium. The Tigers recorded 10 service aces and maintained control throughout the match, winning 25-14, 25-15, and 25-22. The victory marked the second time this season that West Alabama has swept Miles College.
Leading the charge once again was KB Kinney, who earned Player of the Match for the second consecutive outing. Kinney delivered a career-high 15 kills, along with 17 assists and 7 digs, showcasing her all-around impact on both sides of the ball.
West Alabama jumped out to a fast start in the opening set and never looked back, capitalizing on early service aces and efficient attacking to take a 1-0 lead. The Tigers continued their momentum into the second set, controlling the pace with key contributions from Mia McGuire, Katerina Korre, and Klára Bobánová. Despite a late push from the Golden Bears in the third set, UWA held firm down the stretch, sealing the sweep with strong finishing from Kinney and Raven Grant.
The Tigers return home on Friday, Oct. 31, to take on Lee University. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall.
