VALDOSTA, Ga. — West Alabama battled throughout but fell 3-0 to Valdosta State on Friday evening at The Complex. The Tigers totaled five blocks and saw strong performances from Katerina Korre, Cadence Goeden, and Klára Bobánová.
Korre opened the match with a kill assisted by KB Kinney, while Goeden and Jazlyn Snow added key points to keep the Tigers within reach in the first set. West Alabama found its rhythm in the second, sparked by a run of kills from Bobánová and strong defensive play at the net.
The Tigers carried that energy into the third set, jumping out to an early 4-1 lead behind kills from Korre and Goeden. Kinney added a service ace to close the gap late, but Valdosta State held on to take the set 25-20 and the match.
West Alabama will now travel to Pensacola, Fla., to face West Florida on Saturday at 6 p.m.
