LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama Tigers (5-7, 1-2 GSC) continue Gulf South Conference play as they host the Auburn-Montgomery Warhawks (4-6, 1-2) for a three-game series at Tartt Field. The series opens on Friday, February 21, with first pitch at 2 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. and concluding with a 4 p.m. contest.

West Alabama looks to build momentum after a competitive start to conference play. Offensively, the Tigers are led by Eli Burwash, who boasts a .362 batting average and a 1.051 OPS, tallying 17 hits, including five doubles and two home runs. Blake Vineyard has also been a key contributor at the plate, hitting .355 with two home runs and seven RBIs. Nick Wilson and Joe Watkins have added steady production, each recording 11 hits this season.

On the mound, the Tigers will rely on strong performances from their pitching staff. Maxwell Schumacher has been a standout, posting a 0.82 ERA over 11 innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out seven. Jack Hoppenjans has been effective in relief, recording a 2.57 ERA over seven innings with two saves. Ryan Ladner has also been solid, holding opponents to a .143 batting average over 7.1 innings.

Auburn-Montgomery enters the series looking to make an impact in the conference standings. The Warhawks feature a balanced offensive and pitching approach, making them a formidable opponent. Tyrese Rooks leads the team in batting average and extra-base hits, while Zach Drew has been a key run producer. Cole Strachan has also provided consistent production at the plate. Defensively, AUM has registered 276 putouts and 90 assists while maintaining a .973 fielding percentage.

On the mound, the Warhawks will count on starters Payte Williams and Clay Slagle to set the tone, while closer Lawrence Gallo leads an effective bullpen. The pitching staff has combined for 10 double plays and has limited opponents to a .962 fielding percentage.

With both teams looking to gain ground in the GSC race, this weekend's series sets up to be a competitive matchup at Tartt Field. Fans can follow the action live through UWA Athletics' official channels.
