LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Men's and Women's Rodeo team gets back to work this weekend as the Tigers travel to Meridian, Mississippi for East Mississippi CC's Rodeo.

West Alabama is coming off a pair of fourth place finishes at the Arkansas Tech Rodeo to begin their Spring Season and look to return to peak form this weekend at EMCC's Rodeo.

"We've been practicing hard this week," said head coach Daniel Poole. "That's over. Now we just need to enjoy the opportunity to compete and let the rest go."

MEN'S RODEO
West Alabama Men's team remains second in the Ozark Region after adding 310 to their season total of 2,766. Tanner Brown continues to lead the Tigers as the senior is now ranked sixth in the Men's All-Around with 965 total points on the season. At Arkansas Tech's Rodeo this past weekend, Brown recorded a team-high 110 points in the Tie Down Roping which was the most scored by an UWA athlete throughout the entire Rodeo. 

Stone Reeves didn't compete this past weekend, but once he returns, he'll give a jolt to West Alabama, particularly in the Tie Down Roping Event. The duo of Brown and Reeves in the Tie Down Roping stands as one of the best in the country and is a large reason why the Tigers sit 11th in the country and first in the region. While Reeves didn't compete this past weekend, Clarke Gordon did compete and recorded 100 points in the Team Roping event. Gordon remains one of the best Team Ropers in the nation, bringing a total of 400 points in the event into this weekend's action. 

WOMEN'S RODEO
Winners of three Rodeos this season, the West Alabama Women's Rodeo team enters the weekend first in the Ozark Region. Joanna Hammett has emerged as one of the leaders on the Tigers' squad as the senior ranks second in the region in the Goat Tying event. Hammett's racked up 350 total points in the event this season and comes into the weekend after registering a team-high 110 last weekend. 

The trio of Gabbie Hayes, Ashley Teems, and Mille Joe Rosenberg will most likely give UWA a lift in the Barrell Racing but the Tigers are at their best with Ashley Henderson, Sydney Poole, and Sarah Curl in their lineup. West Alabama's talented trio didn't compete last weekend, but if they're active in Meridian come Thursday, the Tigers are primed for an exciting three days.

The East Mississippi Community College Rodeo is set to begin on Thursday with the action concluding on Saturday night.
