LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama is devastated to announce the death of freshman football player, Elisha Jones III. 

Jones signed with the Tigers this past February, after lettering at Baldwin County High School and graduating in May 2025. 

In his three-year career with Baldwin County, the Edge Rusher accumulated 162 total tackles and 24.0 tackles for loss. As a senior, Jones averaged 11.8 tackles per game, leading to an ASWA 6A All-State Honorable Mention acknowledgement.

"Although he was only with us for a short period of time, he definitely left a mark on every member on this team with his positive attitude and his contagious personality.
