LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Athletic Department is excited to announce that Former Sports Information Director and Athletic Director, Dee Outlaw has been selected to the College Sports Communicators Hall of Fame.
The 2026 CSC Hall of Fame Class will be inducted at the College Sports Communicators #CSCUnite26 annual convention on June 8 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Joining Outlaw in the CSC Hall of Fame will be Sam Atkinson (Gallaudet), Kevin Trainor (Arkansas), Kelly Bird (Linfield), Jerry Emig (Ohio State), and Steve White (Western Carolina).
"I am humbled and honored to be elected to CSC/CoSIDA Hall of Fame," said Outlaw. "It is so rewarding to be on the same list of longtime colleagues like Langston Rogers, Jeff Hodges, Larry Hymel, David Housel and many more. This honor covers many Gulf South Conference SIDs as well as all the UWA coaches, staff and student athletes (my Tigers) I had the pleasure to work with, both as SID and Athletic Director."
Outlaw's name already resides in the UWA Hall of Fame after leaving an indelible mark as the Athletic Department's Sports Information Director from 1975-1994 and Athletic Director from 1994-2006. As Athletic Director, Outlaw was instrumental in the development of the UWA Softball Complex and helped spearhead the additions of Men's and Women's Cross Country and Rodeo.
Along with his significant contributions to UWA Athletics, Outlaw was also instrumental on the National scene, serving on the NCAA Baseball Committee and the Division II Management Council.
"Dee Outlaw's induction into the CSC Hall of Fame is a richly deserved honor and a testament to a career defined by service, integrity, and impact, said Director of Athletics Brett Gilliland. "Dee's tenure at UWA was truly storied—over the course of his time here, he helped support tens of thousands of Tiger student-athletes, leaving a true legacy. Even today, Dee continues to find meaningful ways to support Tiger Athletics, and we are incredibly grateful for the lasting difference he has made to our institution and our student-athletes."
Outlaw will be officially inducted into the CSC Hall of Fame on June 8 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.
