West Alabama Earns Home Win Over Christian Brothers

LIVINGSTON, Ala. — West Alabama (5-5, 3-4 GSC) defeated Christian Brothers (3-8, 0-5 GSC), 67–57, on Friday night at Pruitt Hall, converting 24 free throws in the win.

The Tigers set the tone early, building an 18–13 lead after the first quarter and holding the Bucs to just 10 points in the second to take a 32–23 advantage into halftime. West Alabama continued to control the game in the third quarter, outscoring Christian Brothers 18–14 to extend the lead to 50–37.

Bellah Machen led all scorers with 27 points, marking the second time this season she has reached that total and matching her career high. Haley Nichols recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor. Shay Hunter helped pace the offense and sparked the Tigers with defensive pressure throughout the night.

Christian Brothers attempted to rally late, but West Alabama sealed the victory at the free-throw line down the stretch to secure the 67–57 win.

The Tigers return home Sunday to face the Union Bulldogs at Pruitt Hall, with tipoff scheduled for 2 p.m.
