No. 11 Tigers Heads to Mobile for Midweek Clash at Badgers

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The No. 11 University of West Alabama baseball team returns to the road Tuesday afternoon for a midweek showdown against Spring Hill College. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. in Mobile as the Tigers look to continue their strong start to the 2026 campaign.

West Alabama enters the contest at 12-1 overall and 5-1 in Gulf South Conference play, riding momentum from a series win at Auburn Montgomery over the weekend.

Offensive Firepower
The Tigers' lineup has been one of the most productive in the region, hitting .308 as a team with 131 hits, 11 home runs, and 97 RBIs through 13 games. West Alabama is averaging more than eight runs per game and owns a .433 team on-base percentage.

Nick Wilson leads the charge with a .415 average, three home runs, and 18 RBIs while posting a 1.125 OPS. Rashad Robinson continues to impact the game in multiple ways, hitting .327 with three homers, 15 RBIs, and a perfect 8-for-8 mark in stolen base attempts. Hudson Walburn is batting .347 with 16 runs scored, while Diego Bryant has provided power in limited action, hitting .350 with two home runs and a 1.135 OPS.

The Tigers have also been aggressive on the bases, swiping 23 bags in 29 attempts, and have committed just seven errors defensively for a .985 fielding percentage.

Depth on the Mound
West Alabama's pitching staff has complemented the offense with a 3.22 team ERA and 96 strikeouts in 109 innings. Opponents are hitting just .214 against the Tigers.

Thomas Kerby has been dominant in both starting and relief roles, posting a 1.02 ERA with a .155 opponent batting average across 17.2 innings. Blake Westry owns a 1.53 ERA with 14 strikeouts, while Colin Woodham (2.89 ERA) and Baker Green (4.20 ERA) have provided quality innings in the rotation.

Freshman Luke Clanahan is listed as the probable starter for Tuesday's contest. In his lone appearance this season, Clanahan tossed three scoreless innings, allowing no hits while striking out three.

Scouting Spring Hill
Spring Hill enters 7-7 overall and 5-1 in SIAC play. The Badgers are hitting .285 as a team with 17 home runs and have matched West Alabama with 131 hits on the year.

John Webb leads the lineup with a .429 average and 15 RBIs, while Jordan Black has blasted five home runs and carries a 1.172 OPS. Jatnier Torres is batting .346 with six doubles and two home runs.

On the mound, Donovan Monsees is the probable starter. He owns a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings of work and has limited opponents to a .143 batting average. As a staff, Spring Hill carries a 6.63 ERA and allows opponents to hit .293.

Series History
West Alabama holds a 19-13 advantage in the all-time series and is 9-5 in games played in Mobile. The Tigers swept both matchups last season, earning a 12-8 win on the road before claiming a 9-1 victory in Livingston.

First pitch between the Tigers and Badgers is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday as West Alabama looks to continue building momentum in the heart of its nonconference schedule.
