POPLARVILLE, Miss. - The University of West Alabama Men's Rodeo team highlighted the Tigers' efforts at Pearl River CC's Rodeo with a second place finish.

UWA's Men's squad accumulated 590 points on the weekend, finishing above Northwest Missouri, Southern Arkansas, East Mississippi, Pearl River, TRC, Murray State, and UTM.

Kota Wilhite recorded the most points for the Tigers as the Graduate accumulated 140 points in the Tie Down Roping. Wilhite's 140 points was good enough for a second place finish in the event, while Tyler Lovering earned 60 points.

In the Team Roping, Teigan Orr and Grey Wells teamed up and recorded 135 points while the duo of Tanner Brown and Clarke Gordon claimed 60 points. UWA had two representatives advance to the Championship Round in the Steer Wrestling in Austin Brooks and Evan Bourdon. Bourdon impressed with 95 points to add on to West Alabama's total. 

On the Women's side, Darby Toole and Andi Norwood made it to the Championship Round, recording a combined 95 points. In the Barrel Racing, Gabbie Hayes turned in her best performance of the fall, accumulating 100 points while Aubrey Mills added 40 points. 

West Alabama will return to action on April 9  when they travel to Martin, Tennessee for UT Martin's Home Rodeo.
