LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Following another successful week on the diamond, the West Alabama baseball team continues to rise in the national spotlight, moving up in two major polls while holding steady in another.
The Tigers climbed to No. 6 in the ABCA Coaches Poll and jumped to No. 15 in the NCBWA National Poll, while remaining at No. 12 in the D2 Baseball rankings. West Alabama also maintained its position at No. 3 in the latest South Region rankings.
UWA now sits at 26-7 overall after a midweek victory over Tuskegee, continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.
A key factor in the Tigers' national recognition has been their consistency on the mound. As a staff, West Alabama holds a 3.53 ERA, ranking sixth in NCAA Division II. The Tigers also rank 11th nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (7.98) and 14th in WHIP (1.34), showcasing one of the most reliable pitching units in the country.
Throughout the season, UWA has combined strong starting pitching with effective bullpen performances, limiting opposing offenses and keeping the Tigers competitive in every outing.
With conference play heating up and postseason positioning beginning to take shape, West Alabama's continued climb in the polls reflects both its on-field success and its growing reputation as one of Division II's top programs.
The Tigers will look to build on their recent success as they return to Gulf South Conference action hosting Trevecca Nazarene on Friday, April 3rd at 1 PM, aiming to continue their rise in the national rankings.
