LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama Men's and Women's Rodeo teams return to action this week at Arkansas Tech's Rodeo as the Ozark Region schedule nears its conclusion.
With just two regular season rodeos remaining, both UWA squads are firmly in contention for top finishes.
The West Alabama men currently sit second in the Ozark Region standings with 4,085 points, trailing only Missouri Valley College while maintaining a significant lead over the rest of the field. Consistent performances throughout the season have kept the Tigers near the top, positioning them for a strong postseason push.
On the women's side, West Alabama holds third place in the Ozark Region with 1,258.33 points, remaining within striking distance of the top two teams heading into the final rodeos of the year.
Individually, the Tigers continue to showcase depth across multiple events.
On the men's side, Tanner Brown ranks third in the Ozark Region All-Around standings with 1,050 points, while Clarke Gordon sits fifth with 910 points. Teigan Orr (530 points) and Stone Reeves (490 points) also rank inside the top 10, giving West Alabama four competitors among the region's top performers.
The Tigers have been especially strong in team roping and timed events throughout the season, with multiple athletes contributing to UWA's point total and helping the team maintain its position near the top of the standings.
For the women, Sydney Poole leads the way and ranks second in the Ozark Region all-around standings with 518.33 points. Her consistency across events has been a key factor in keeping the Tigers among the top teams in the region. Andi Norwood currently ranks second in the Region in the Breakaway Roping as she closes in on a Reserve Championship. Allie Sherman is still in contention for a Reserve Championship in the Barrel Racing event as the Junior holds 310 points, just 35 points from second place.
With only a handful of rodeos remaining, both squads will look to close the gap in the standings and solidify their spots for the College National Finals Rodeo.
Competition at the Arkansas Tech Rodeo begins later on Thursday with action set to conclude on Saturday night.
