LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama track and field team will compete this weekend at the West Georgia Invitational, featuring a strong mix of running and field events. The meet begins at 8:00 a.m. in Carrollton, GA, at the University of West Georgia Track and Field Complex.
Friday's schedule opens with a balanced lineup. In the field events, Dedric Hicks and Avery Peterson will compete in the men's shot put, while Autumn Sansing takes on the women's. Caleb Vann highlights the jumps in the triple jump, and Sansing returns alongside Rita Walker in the javelin.
On the track, the distance group will be tested early. Mercy Lomuria, Abigail Vega, and Walker are entered in the women's 1500-meter run, giving UWA a solid presence in mid-distance competition. Kiona McCallister will race in the 400-meter hurdles, while Jalen Green takes on the men's hurdles. Sprint depth will be showcased in the 200-meter dash, featuring Adria Burrell, Jocelyn Randle, Gabriel Stephens, and J'Da Williams for the women. The men's group includes Landon Laphand, Jaxson Lovelace, Tyrese Pitts, and Braxton Williams.

Distance runners return in the 5000 meters, where Miriam Dominguez-Tellez, Grace Gosline, Lomuria, and Laurel Morse will represent UWA. Relay action begins with the women's 4x100 team of J'Da Williams, Randle, D'Kota Hudson, and Burrell. The hurdles and sprint events will be key highlights on Saturday. Green will compete in the 110-meter hurdles, while the women's 400-meter dash features Haley Cook-Graham, Jamaya Dancy, Kacey Green, Kilaya Lucien, and Gabriel Stephens. The men's side includes Michael Harris, Laphand, and Pitts.
The 100-meter dash will again showcase UWA's sprint strength, with Burrell, Hudson, and Williams leading the women, while Nick Nash, Tyri Payne, Lawrence Walker Jr., and B. Williams headline the men's group. In the women's 800-meter dash, McCallister, Vega, and Walker return to compete while Sha'Kenye Darden, Ray Englebert, Gary Mata, and Dylan Payne compete in the men's 800-meter dash.
With strong representation across nearly every event, UWA enters the weekend poised to deliver a well-rounded performance at the West Georgia Invitational.
