LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The University of West Alabama Women's Track and Field's J'Da Williams was named the GSC Freshman and Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week on Wednesday.
Williams repeats as the Conference's Freshman and Track Athlete of the Week after a dazzling performance at the Ole Miss Relays this past weekend. The Sprinter led the way for the Tigers in both the 100m and 200m event. In the 100m, Williams finished second amongst Division I competition with a time of 11.34. The freshman's time currently ranks second in all of Division II in the Outdoor season.
After turning heads in the 100m, Williams competed in the 200m and registered a time of 24.20. Williams' time placed her fourth in the event, capping off a spectacular day in Oxford.
The sprinter set new personal records in both the 100m and 200m at Ole Miss as she continues her special freshman campaign.
Williams will be back in action with West Alabama on April 3 as the Tigers travel to Carrollton, GA for the UWG Invitational.
