LIVINGSTON, Ala. - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its 2026 All-South Region teams on Friday, with three members of the West Alabama Tigers baseball earning recognition for their standout seasons. Freshman right-handed pitcher Blake Westry was named First Team All-South Region, while senior infielder Nick Wilson and senior outfielder Rashad Robinson collected Second Team All-South Region honors.
Westry turned in one of the top freshman campaigns in the region, anchoring the Tigers' weekend rotation throughout the 2026 season. The right-hander posted an 8-1 record with a 2.08 ERA across 69.1 innings pitched, allowing just 16 earned runs while striking out 44 batters. Opponents hit only .237 against Westry during the year, and he recorded 14 appearances with 13 starts.
The freshman from the mound delivered multiple dominant outings during the season, including a one-hit shutout performance against Mississippi College on Feb. 14 and a six-inning outing with no walks at Lee University on April 18. Westry also earned victories over regional opponents including West Florida, Alabama Huntsville, Valdosta State, and Delta State during the Tigers' 2026 campaign.
Wilson earned Second Team All-South Region honors after putting together another strong offensive season for West Alabama. The senior infielder started all 49 games for the Tigers and finished the regular season batting .328 with 62 hits, eight doubles, seven home runs, and 43 RBIs. Wilson also compiled a .481 slugging percentage and registered 19 walks while posting 20 multi-hit games during the year.
Among Wilson's top performances was a 3-for-4 outing with five RBIs against Augusta on Feb. 8, while he also recorded three-hit games against William Carey and Alabama Huntsville later in the season. Defensively, Wilson posted a .958 fielding percentage with 99 assists and helped turn six double plays in the infield.
Robinson collected Second Team All-South Region recognition following an explosive senior campaign in the Tigers' outfield. The senior hit .315 across 48 games while leading the team in runs scored with 55 and stolen bases with 21. Robinson added 56 hits, 12 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, and 34 RBIs while posting a .596 slugging percentage.
The outfielder produced several big offensive performances throughout the season, including a six-RBI outing against Albany State on Feb. 6 and a two-home run game versus Spring Hill on April 21. Robinson also totaled 24 stolen base attempts and consistently provided production at the top of the Tigers' lineup. Defensively, he recorded a .983 fielding percentage with 115 putouts in the outfield.
The trio helped lead West Alabama to another strong season against Gulf South Conference and regional competition, earning recognition among the top players across the South Region.
