LIVINGSTON, ALA. – The postseason honors continue to roll in for the University of West Alabama baseball program, as two Tigers earned recognition on the 2026 Rawlings/ABCA NCAA Division II South Region Teams.
Freshman pitcher Blake Westry was named to the Rawlings/ABCA All-South Region Second Team, while outfielder Rashad Robinson also earned All-South Region Second Team honors following standout campaigns for the Tigers.
Westry emerged as one of the top young arms in the Gulf South Conference during his freshman season, finishing the year with an 8-1 record and a 2.08 ERA across 69.1 innings pitched. The right-hander struck out 44 batters while allowing just 16 earned runs over 14 appearances and 13 starts.
The freshman recorded five strikeouts on four separate occasions, including outings against Augusta, Auburn Montgomery, Montevallo, and Trevecca Nazarene. Westry also delivered several dominant performances throughout the spring, highlighted by allowing just one hit over five shutout innings against Mississippi College on Feb. 14 and tossing six innings without issuing a walk at Lee University on April 18.
Westry held opponents scoreless in five starts during the season and closed the year with a 1.000 fielding percentage defensively on the mound.
Robinson put together a dynamic offensive season for the Tigers, batting .314 with 58 hits, 56 runs scored, 13 home runs, 36 RBI, and 21 stolen bases across 50 games played.
The outfielder totaled 12 doubles and two triples while posting a .984 fielding percentage defensively. Robinson recorded 17 multi-hit performances during the year, including a four-hit, two-home run outing against Spring Hill on April 21. Earlier in the season, he drove in six runs and hit two home runs against Albany State on Feb. 6.
Robinson also proved to be one of UWA's top threats on the basepaths, swiping three bases in a game against Union (Tenn.) on March 28 and finishing the season 21-for-25 in stolen base attempts.
The Rawlings/ABCA All-Region teams recognize the top performers from across NCAA Division II baseball and are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association.
