LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama volleyball team closed out the UWA Invitational in dominant fashion Thursday, earning a pair of straight-set victories over Talladega College and Miles College inside Pruitt Hall.
West Alabama opened the day with a 3-0 victory over Talladega, winning 25-8, 25-14 and 25-9, before returning to the floor for a 25-12, 25-20, 25-6 sweep of Miles.
West Alabama 3, Talladega 0
The Tigers controlled the opening match from start to finish, holding Talladega to a .000 hitting percentage while producing 38 kills and hitting .390 as a team.
West Alabama was especially efficient in the opening set, hitting .520 with 15 kills and just two errors on 25 attacks on its way to a 25-8 victory. The Tigers followed by hitting .444 in the second set before finishing off the sweep with a 25-9 third-set win.
Klára Bobánová was named Player of the Match after leading the Tigers with nine kills while adding nine digs and two block assists.
Cadence Goeden and
Raven Grant each added eight kills, with Goeden hitting .389 and Grant finishing at .533.
Rachele Zanini directed the offense with 23 assists, three service aces and five digs, while Bianca Stütz added five assists in the third set.
Charlotte Kerscher recorded three service aces, and
Bailey Keef led the Tigers with seven digs.
UWA also received contributions throughout the lineup as 13 Tigers appeared in the match. The Tigers finished with seven service aces while limiting Talladega to 19 kills against 19 attack errors.
West Alabama 3, Miles 0
West Alabama carried the momentum into the nightcap, turning in its most efficient offensive performance of the day with 48 kills and only six attack errors on 82 attempts for a .512 hitting percentage.
The Tigers committed no attack errors in the first set, hitting .667 with 14 kills in a 25-12 win. Miles challenged UWA in the second, but the Tigers pulled out a 25-20 victory before closing the night by hitting .636 in a commanding 25-6 third set.
Jazlyn Snow earned Player of the Match honors after putting together a nearly flawless offensive performance. Snow finished with 10 kills on 12 attacks without an error, good for an .833 hitting percentage, while also adding a block assist and a service ace.
Bobánová led the Tigers with 13 kills while hitting .632 and adding five digs and two block assists.
Katerina Korre added nine kills on 18 swings for a .444 hitting percentage, while
Cadence Goeden contributed seven kills and hit .462.
Zanini dished out 37 assists to go along with eight digs, one service ace and two blocks.
Ola Winiarek recorded four service aces and six digs, while Keef led the defensive effort with nine digs.
West Alabama finished the match with six service aces, five total blocks and a 72.5 percent sideout rate while holding Miles to a .101 hitting percentage.
The two victories completed an undefeated four-match run for West Alabama at the UWA Invitational, with the Tigers sweeping all four opponents in straight sets.

West Alabama returns to Pruitt Hall on Monday, Sept. 14, when the Tigers host Stillman College at 6 p.m.
The Tigers will then turn their attention to Gulf South Conference play, opening the GSC schedule at home on Friday, Sept. 18, against Mississippi Christian. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Pruitt Hall.
The matchup with Mississippi Christian will mark West Alabama's first conference contest of the 2026 season.
