LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to instate foe North Alabama on Monday evening at Tiger Stadium. The loss knocked the Tigers back to 6-9 overall and 1-4 in the conference while UNA improved to 12-3 and 4-1 in the Gulf South Conference.
The Lions attempted 18 shots in the contest with nine in each half. UWA keeper
Jess Martin tallied seven saves in the opening half and nine total in the contest. The Purple and Gold picked a goal in the opening stanza as Jennifer Osmond scored her 11th goal of the season in the final minutes, lifting UNA to a 1-0 lead at the intermission.
Osmond opened the second frame with her second goal of the evening – this time tapping a shot past Martin in the 50th minute. Both Osmond's goals came off the foot of Chloe Roberts.
The Lions proceed to pad its lead as Roberts scored on an assist from Osmond in the 69th minute with Adrienne Aragon scoring the final goal of the night on a header in the 75th minute on an assist from Jo Chubb.
Tori Brook attempted the Tigers lone shot on the evening - in the 51st minute – but the shot sailed high of the net.
Alex McLay registered the win in net for UNA – improving to 12-3 on the season. Martin takes the loss for UWA – falling to 6-9 on the campaign.
West Alabama returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 as the Tigers travel to Valdosta State. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
