LIVINGSTON, Ala. — The University of West Alabama women's soccer team will welcome three newcomers recognized on the 2026 Gulf South Conference Newcomers Watchlist, as Tianna Klysh, Sofia Jimenez Perez and Kya Jacobs were named to the list ahead of the upcoming season.
The three newcomers bring collegiate experience from Division I and junior college programs, adding depth and experience to the Tigers' roster as West Alabama prepares for the 2026 campaign.
Klysh, a forward from Winnipeg, Canada, joins the Tigers after spending the previous two seasons at Chicago State. During her collegiate career, Klysh appeared in 22 matches and recorded 371 minutes of action. She adds Division I experience to West Alabama's attacking group and provides the Tigers with another option in the offensive rotation with her speed and work rate.
Jimenez Perez, a forward from Parras, Coahuila, Mexico, comes to West Alabama after spending time at Pellissippi State Community College and Hampton University. During her freshman season at Hampton, she appeared in 13 matches and made four starts, totaling 492 minutes. She recorded two shots and one shot on goal during her time with the Pirates.
Her experience across multiple collegiate levels gives the Tigers additional depth in the attacking third as she enters her next chapter with West Alabama.
Jacobs, a junior midfielder from Ontario, Canada, joins the Tigers after competing at Alabama A&M during the 2025 season. She appeared in 14 matches and earned one start for the Bulldogs, totaling 225 minutes.
Jacobs recorded her lone goal of the season against Prairie View on Oct. 12, finishing the campaign with two points on one shot and one shot on goal. Her ability to contribute to the midfield gives West Alabama another experienced option heading into the new season.
With Klysh, Jimenez Perez and Jacobs joining the program, the Tigers add three players with collegiate experience to a roster looking to build on its previous success. The trio will look to make an immediate impact as West Alabama begins preparations for the 2026 season.
