MONTEVALLO, Ala. – After dropping the first match of the day at the No.1 singles position, the University of West Alabama women's tennis team rebounded to take an 8-1 triumph over Montevallo Tuesday afternoon.
UWA started the day off with a clean sweep at all three doubles courts as the Tiger tandem of
Jill Furlong and
Lisa Becker ousted Montevallo's Nikola Polcerova and Helene Nordgreen 9-8 at the first position, while
Angy Cuellar and
Dasha Popova ousted a Falcon pair by a score of 8-3.
The Tigers then completed the doubles' sweep with an 8-3 win by

Up 3-0, the Tigers needed just two wins to clinch the match. That feat proved to be an easy task for West Alabama as Popova ousted Amy McGucken by a score of 6-0, 6-0, before teammate
Lisa Becker clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the fifth position over Megan Stevens.
With the score now at 5-0, UWA went on to get big wins from
