LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's tennis players Shaira Rivera and Alexa Milliam were named ITA Singles and Doubles All-Americans on Tuesday.
Rivera and Milliam both repeat as ITA All-Americans following stellar 2026 seasons. In addition to earning All-America honors, the Filipino duo is ranked No. 2 in the ITA doubles rankings while both remain inside the top-20 of the ITA singles rankings.
Rivera adds an ITA All-America recognition to an impressive 2026 résumé that also includes Gulf South Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-GSC honors. Competing on Line One singles and doubles, the graduate student accumulated 33 total wins, posting a 13-7 singles record and a 20-2 doubles mark. During the regular season, Rivera was named GSC Player of the Week twice and earned singles victories over nationally ranked opponents from Barry, Flagler, North Georgia, Mississippi College and Valdosta State. She also defeated Division I opponents Samford and Alabama State.
Milliam continues to build on an already impressive legacy as a sophomore. The reigning ITA National Freshman of the Year followed up last season's success with First Team All-GSC and ITA All-America honors in 2026. This season, the Philippines native competed on Line One doubles alongside Rivera and on Line Two singles. Despite battling injuries throughout the year, Milliam still recorded 31 total victories, including 11 singles wins and 20 doubles victories.
During the season, the sophomore earned wins over nationally ranked opponents from Midwestern State, Columbus State, West Florida and Valdosta State while competing on Line Two singles.
Together, Rivera and Milliam shined throughout the season, helping lead UWA to GSC and NCAA Tournament appearances as well as a runner-up finish at the ITA Indoor National Championships.
Milliam is slated to return to the Tigers for the 2026-27 season as a junior, while Rivera has exhausted her collegiate eligibility.
