LIVINGSTON, Ala. - For the second consecutive year, UWA Women's Tennis stars, Shaira Rivera and Alexa Milliam are representing the Philippines in the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup.

The Billie Jean King Cup is a premier international team competition. Often referred to as the "World Cup of Tennis", it is the largest annual international team event in women's sports, featuring over 100 competing nations.

Rivera and Milliam were standouts for West Alabama in 2026. The tandem competed in doubles with one another and compiled a 20-2 record, leading to a No. 2 ranking in the country. Along with their doubles success, the duo also shined in singles as they combined for 24 wins on the year. Rivera and Milliam were both acknowledged for their play in 2026 as both were named ITA All-Americans.

In the Billie Jean King Cup, the Philippines are in Group II Asia/Oceania, Group A, featuring Pacific Oceania, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and Kyrgyzstan. Only one team from Group A will receive a promotion to Group One.

Group A play will run from June 15-June 20.

Rivera, Milliam, and the Philippines are set to play Hong Kong on Monday as they eye a Group promotion.
