LIVINGSTON, Ala. - For the third consecutive year, the University of West Alabama Women's Tennis team has accepted an invitation to the ITA Indoor National Championships.

The ITA Indoor National Championships will be hosted by the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 19-21. Only eight teams in the country receive invitations to compete for the Indoor Championship. Joining UWA in the field will be Barry, Catawba, Columbus State, Embry Riddle, Mississippi Christian, Nova Southeastern, and UIndy

"This is a great experience that our women are looking forward to with the goal of winning it this time," said head coach Jeff Beaman.

With this announcement, the Tigers maintain their status as one of the premier programs in the country. UWA found themselves within the top-10 of the ITA rankings throughout the 2026, and reached the No. 1 spot for the first time in school history in March. West Alabama closed the campaign out with a 19-6 overall record, advancing to both the GSC and NCAA South Region Tournament.

Last year, West Alabama came into the ITA Championships as the No. 5 seed and advanced to the semifinals after claiming a victory over Flagler. The Tigers ultimately fell to the eventual champions, Barry, in the semifinals, but took the Buccaneers to the brink in every single line. 

UWA is primed to be strong contender once again in 2027, with two-time ITA All-American, Alexa Milliam, leading the charge.
