MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The University of West Alabama women's tennis team fell to Barry University Tuesday afternoon after the Buccaneers swept every court on their way to the 9-0 triumph.
In doubles play, West Alabama managed to win one game as
Courtney McDonald and
Emily Gerding took an 8-1 loss at the final doubles spot. Barry held the Tigers scoreless on the top courts in two 8-0 losses.
It was much of the same in singles action as the Buccaneers dominated West Alabama at each position. The Tigers took a defeat at every court – all coming in straight sets.
With the loss, West Alabama moves to 7-7 on the year and will continue its swing through the Sunshine State with a match at Tampa Saturday at 2 p.m.
