TAMPA, Fla. – The West Alabama softball team sees its 2012 campaign come to an end as the Tigers (35-25) fall 3-1 on Championship Sunday to Florida Southern. The Mocs move on to face the winner of the South 1 Regional next weekend in the South Super Regional.
For the second time against FSC, the Red and White logged six hits, but managed only one run in its final outing of the season.
Kelsey Cooper, who logged five hits against the Mocs in two games, went 2-for-3 with the lone RBI. The Mobile, Ala., junior drove in the run in the fourth inning with her second hit of the afternoon scoring
Morgan Morrison.
Kristen Skinner concluded her career in the circle striking out five and allowing all three Moc runs on seven hits. The Toxey, Ala., native fanned 316 batters in her two seasons on the rubber while posting a record of 37-20 with two saves.
Hannah Griffin pitched the final third of an inning and gave up one hit in her final appearance in the circle for the Tigers.

Angela Arredondo all collected hits in the final contest of the season for the Red and White.
Christine Clark logged the win for the Mocs to improve to 29-9 on the season. In the complete game performance, Clark struck out four while scattering six hits.
FSC posted single spots in the first and fourth frames to take a 2-1 lead and tallied an insurance run in the sixth to complete the victory.
The season finale brings to a close the careers of Griffin, Skinner and
Nicole Bailey, who leave having helped guide the program to back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances and the first Super Regional berth in softball history.
