LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama Softball team's Trinity Hatcher was named to the NCAA Division II Rawlings NFCA Gold Glove Team on Thursday.
Hatcher becomes the first player in UWA history to win a national Gold Glove Award since the NFCA established the honor.
UWA's standout left fielder took a major leap during her sophomore campaign in 2026. Defensively, Hatcher was flawless, recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 134 putouts and five assists across 139 chances. She also helped turn two double plays, throwing out multiple baserunners, showcasing both her arm strength and accuracy.
Hatcher proved to be a complete five-tool player with her standout performances in the field, at the plate, and on the basepaths in 2026.
Offensively, the sophomore posted career-best numbers, hitting .293 while leading the team with 13 home runs and 28 RBIs. On the base paths, Hatcher stole 16 bases in 18 attempts for an 88.9 percent success rate.
Hatcher adds this prestigious honor to an already impressive sophomore resume, pairing it with an GSC Gold Glove recognition to further establish herself as one of the top defensive players in the country.
