CLINTON, Miss. – West Alabama had little trouble dispatching Mississippi College in men's and women's college tennis matches Thursday at the MC Tennis Complex. The UWA women took an 8-1 win, while the men defeated the Choctaws 7-2.
West Alabama's women are now 9-3 on the season, while the men improved to 8-2. Women won 8-1 to improve to 9-3. The Mississippi College men are 2-2 and the women's team dipped to 1-3.

Emily Gerding each claimed singles victories for West Alabama. UWA women's doubles teams got the match off on the right foot with the combinations of Furlong/Cardenas, Popova/Gerding and Jeske/
Shannon McEvoy each scoring victories.

Honorio Fernandez,
Kike Ruiz and
Simon Bardell were singles winners for the UWA men. Ivanov/
Adam Drysdale and Vargas/Ruiz won No.2 and No. 3 doubles, respectively.
The Tigers next scheduled match is March 9 against Indianapolis in Gulf Shores, Ala.
