LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of West Alabama women's tennis team kept its winning streak alive at 11 matches by scraping by Indianapolis, 5-4, Friday at the Vaughn Tennis Complex.
UWA improved to 14-2 with the victory and returns to Gulf South Conference play Sunday at North Alabama. Indianapolis, who plays at Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday, saw its record drop to 3-4.
The Tigers opened the match by winning two of three doubles matches before
Stanzi Stuijt and
Natalia Cardenas earned victories in No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, over Allie Smith and Selenay Heper.
The Hounds won No. 3 through No. 5 singles, but
Christina Bettag's win over Kasey Land in No. 6 singles sealed the deal for West Alabama.
