FLORENCE, Ala. – North Alabama closed West Alabama's women's tennis regular season schedule on a sour note by defeating the Tigers, 5-1, Friday at the UNA Tennis Facility. 
 
The Lions improved to 9-9 overall and 6-3 in Gulf South Conference play. West Alabama dropped to 16-6 and 5-4. UWA has lost three straight and four of its last six matches.
 
West Alabama plays next at the GSC Women's Tennis Tournament that begins Thursday at the Lagoon Park Tennis Center and the O'Connor Tennis Center in Montgomery, Ala. UNA travels to Western Kentucky on Saturday.
