LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Pensacola portion of the NCAA Division II South Region will be an all Gulf South Conference affair with fourth-seed West Alabama playing fifth-seed Valdosta State at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex on the University of West Florida campus.
The winner of the UWA-VSU match will face No. 1 seed West Florida Sunday at 1 p.m. West Florida is one of two sites in the South Region.
This will be the third meeting between West Alabama (23-2) and Valdosta State this season. The Tigers have won both previous matches, 5-4 on April 5 at UWA and 5-2 in the GSC Championships semi-final match April 19 in Montgomery, Ala.
The NCAA Division II Championships in Altamonte Springs, Fla., May 14-17 will feature 16 teams, including two from the South Region. The winner of the regional hosted by West Florida, along with the winner of the regional hosted by No. 2 seed Barry, will earn berths to the national tournament.
