LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama women's tennis team lost for the third time in Gulf South Conference play, 9-0, to No. 15 Valdosta State Saturday at the Vaughn Tennis Center.
For just the second time this year the Tigers have lost back-to-back matches, dropping to 16-5 overall and 5-3 in GSC action. Valdosta State, ranked seventh in the South Region, is 10-3 and 5-1 in league play.
The Lady Blazers had little trouble disposing of West Alabama, with the closest matches being
Natalia Cardenas' 6-4, 6-4 loss to Jennifer Rink in No. 2 singles.
Christina Bettag and
Shannon McEvoy took an 8-6 loss to Julianna Boehm and Moriah Hibbard in No. 3 doubles.
The Tigers finish the regular season Friday at North Alabama. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
