WEST ALABAMAWest Alabama is 6-3. The Tigers are 2-3 in Gulf South Conference play after a loss at Valdosta State last week.
MISS COLLEGEMississippi College is 2-6 overall, 0-5 in GSC play after losing to West Georgia at home last week.
THE COACHESBrett Gilliland is 11-9 in his second season at UWA, his second as a head coach. John Bland is 78-40 in his 10th year as a head coach, 3-15 in his second season at MC.
FINALLY, BACK HOMEUWA is back at Tiger Stadium for the first time since defeating Shorter on Oct. 17 for the fifth and final home game of the 2015 season. The Tigers are 2-2 at Tiger Stadium this year.
LAST MEETING BETWEEN UWA AND THE CHOCTAWSKyle Caldwell passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as UWA defeated MC, 41-28, Nov. 8, 2014 at Robinson-Hale Stadium. Caldwell was 22-for-27 for 221 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran nine times for 55 yards, including a 16-yard scoring run with 55 seconds left to put the game away for the Tigers.
BREAK IN THE SERIESThis is the third meeting since the series between UWA and MC was renewed after a 15-year hiatus that began following the 1997 season when the Choctaws left the GSC. UWA and MC played in 2012 before MC came back into conference play last year.
RUGGED OCTOBERWest Alabama finished the month of October with a 2-3 record after going 4-0 in September. October has not been kind to the Tigers over the last two seasons, with UWA owning a 3-7 mark.
SENIOR DAYThe game against Mississippi College marks Senior Day for 17 Tigers, seven of which spent four years in the UWA program. Two played at UWA for three seasons and five were part of the program for two seasons. Three are finishing their only season as a Tiger.

HONORING VETERANSIn keeping with Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11, UWA will honor all active and military veterans by asking them to stand and be recognized prior to the National Anthem at Saturday's game.
SWAMP GUARDING THE SKIESTiger cornerback Chris "Swamp" Davis leads the GSC in passes defended with an average of 1.25 per game. He is tied with Manny Abad of FIT in total passes defends with 10.
PUNTING TO TYREEK AN UP HILL BATTLETyreek Hill leads the GSC in yards per punt return at 16.4. He is tried for the league lead in puts returns for a touchdown at two with UWG's Telvin Brown. Hill is second in the league in all-purpose yards (151.9) and kickoff returns (24.7).
SACK 'EM UPUWA is one of just three teams in the GSC with more than 20 sacks. The Tigers are third with 22. West Georgia has 26 and Delta State 25.
SACKS AGAINSTWest Alabama leads the league in sacks against. Nine opponents have recorded just nine sacks (1.0 pg) against UWA.
RUSHING DThe Tigers are still strong against the run. After leading the GSC for much of the year, UWA is still second in rushing defense, allowing just 127.0 yards per game and nine TDs on the ground.
