UWA Women’s Tennis Extends Win Streak to Five

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The 26^th-ranked West Alabama women's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches by defeating No. 17 Cameron University, 5-3, Sunday at the Vaughan Tennis Complex.

The Tigers are now 10-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 at home this season. Cameron dropped to 4-4.

"This was a great win over a nationally ranked team," UWA coach Jeff Beaman said. "The women continue to take care of business one match at a time."

After winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, the Tigers also got singles victories from Amina Mukhametshina at No. 1, Georgina Morral at No. 3 and Liliana Araucz at No. 5. The No. 6 singles match was unfinished with Andrea Tomassone leading.

West Alabama begins an eight-match road swing at West Florida on Saturday.
